Installing LTspice

LTspice can be downloaded from :

Windows

LTspice will be installed in C:\Program Files\LTC\LTspiceXVII

Linux
+++++
You can use wine to run the windows version of LTspice on Linux. This library will support it.

MacOS
+++++
Although there is a MacOS native version of LTspice, the Windows version has a nicer UI and more command line options. 
It is recommended to use wine to run the windows version of LTspice on MacOS. This library will try to use the wine version if it is installed, even if the MacOS native version is installed.
